Business News | Gritting | Health & Safety | Snow Clearing | Technology | 03 February

With an ever-growing number of customers across the UK and wintery temperatures jumping up and down this year, running the AccuGrit operations takes skill and a calm personality at the best of times, let alone on the night shift when you’re responsible for completing jobs on time for people’s morning commute.

Luckily for us, we have Mark, who combines experience, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humour to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently, much to the delight of our clients. So, we decided it was time to put a face to the name and introduce Mark.

How did you end up working at AccuGrit?

I was looking for a role with the potential to pursue a new and exciting challenge that would facilitate a healthy balance between the demands of work life and home life.

The opportunity to join what was then a new venture with ambitions to expand and grow matches my own.

What would you like to learn while working at AccuGrit?

I consciously strive to learn new skills by role modelling the approaches of our experts within their fields.

One of my key roles is acting as an intermediary between departments and teams to facilitate the effective collaboration of these specialists, and I learn from this experience daily.

So, what has surprised you to learn about the business/industry?

Unsurprisingly, I have learned that operationally, the winter maintenance industry is multi-faceted, and we as a company endeavour to successfully manage and synchronise those facets through meticulous planning, preparation, and delivery.

Finally, how do you wind down after work?

Is this a trick question? I have a wife and two daughters!

During the season, I usually drop the girls off at school and try and catch up on sleep.
